Shalowitz Wins Primary, Sets Sites on November

University City, MO- Howard A. Shalowitz, candidate for State Senate from the 24th District won the Democratic nomination this evening. Shalowitz, unopposed in the primary, used the primary election to unite Democrats throughout the 24th district.

"The 24th district needs a State Senator who will talk about the issues that most concern our area's families. Improving the quality of our children's education, enhancing health care, and reducing taxes are what this election is about," Shalowitz said.

Shalowitz continued, "I will focus on making sure that Missouri becomes the best State in the nation to raise and educate our children. To accomplish this, we need an educational system that will provide our children with the preparation they need for life, and to make higher education affordable for everyone."

"In addition, as State Senator I will fight for health care reform. We must focus on the out of control costs of health care and prescription drugs, while making sure that HMOs offer comprehensive benefits," Shalowitz said. "Missouri must also find alternative ways of saving taxpayers' money. We must ensure that our money is being properly spent on our schools, transportation, roads, and economic development for our area."     The 24th District roughly covers from University City (east) to I-270 (west) Hazelwood (North) to Frontenac (South).
